Who I Am

My name is Jackie Joyner and I am so excited to meet you! My husband and I are high school sweethearts that grew up in Northern California and moved to Washington in 2012. I am a life long lover of movement and have studied and taught dance since I was young and still do today. I started Pilates when I was 16 to help combat back pain and continued on to get certified with Body Arts and Science International. I was a dance major at California State University Fullerton and went on to study with master teacher Leah Stewart to gain my pre and postnatal specialty through The Live Life Movement. After having my own Pilates studio in Seattle for six years, we moved to Gig Harbor and I worked for Hard Candy Pilates until the pandemic and the birth of our first daughter. She came to us after many years of heart break, loss, and failed IVF. After her birth and seeking out pelvic floor rehabilitation for myself, I found Physical Therapist Hailey Kava and completed a mentorship program under her as well as Re-Balance Pilates training approved by The Postural Restoration Institution . The path to doula work has long been forming and after having my own experience with a difficult birth and recovery, I knew I wanted to do more to support the women in this community. I took my postpartum doula training with Bastyr University and am so excited to finally have a comprehensive skill set to help women fully.

When I am not running after our two daughters you can find me in our garden and greenhouse, at the dance school or on a hiking trail. I love our dogs, 90’s music, time with family, a sunny morning and yummy food.

* I am fully vaccinated & boosted and will support whatever mask policy your family feels comfortable with especially to protect your newborn.
